Sparring is practice fighting. We do a continuous form or semi-contact sparring. Once you’ve been training for a while you can start to attend these classes. Junior members will do padwork and learn basic sparring techniques before moving on to open sparring.

Kids classes are designed around fun while learning. The classes are made up of fitness, strength and flexibility work, kung fu techniques, padwork and games. All adults are Garda Vetted and go through the Irish Martial Arts Commission Child Safety course. Kids from primary school age and upwards are welcome to attend.

Tai chi is a slow moving martial art and translated from Chinese means “supreme ultimate” which to us in the West means nothing but what the translation might be trying to convey is “without equal”. Our Tai Chi classes teach 2 styles of Tai Chi – Bagua and Suang Yang Tai Chi. We also practice the martial aspects of Tai Chi so you can expect to learn pushing hands and applications of the moves.

It was created by a woman called Fan Chi Niang who lived in Yong Chun village in Fujian, China in the 17th century.
